Cheesy Broccoli Soup

Cheesy broccoli soup has always been one of our go-to soups for the first cold weather of fall or winter. We found out early that the recipe needs to be at least doubled, as it goes quickly. My mom and dad always enjoyed this with a sandwich. It brings back pleasant memories of cold weather outside and warm meals inside.

Ingredients:

• 1/2 cup onion, chopped
• 1/4 cup green pepper, chopped
• 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
• 1 10-ounce package frozen chopped broccoli, cooked (no salt added)
• 1 10 3/4 ounce can cream of chicken soup, undiluted
• 1 1/4 cups milk
• 3/4 pound processed American cheese, cubed
  (Hot flavor gives spicier taste)

Directions:

1. Sauté onion and green pepper in butter or margarine
2. Add remaining ingredients and cook on LOW until cheese is thoroughly melted
   Yield: 4 servings
