Martha's Banana Pudding

This recipe was given to me by a friend years ago, and I was forbidden to pot luck dinners or my niece’s house if I didn’t bring it. For the ladies group bake sale, at one time I was making 12 8X8 pans and put the person’s name on it, at least 10 were already promised to someone.

Ingredients:

  • 6-8 Bananas
  • 1lg pkg Instant Vanilla Pudding
  • 1 Can Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 8oz Tub of Cool Whip
  • 3 boxes Vanilla Wafers (Walmart Brand Works Best)
  • 2 Cups Milk

Directions:

  • Make pudding with 2 cups milk (not the 3cups the box says).
  • Set aside and slice up bananas (not too thin, but not too thick. Someone gave me a banana slicer, and it makes perfect uniform slices and is faster).
  • Add sweetened condensed milk and Cool Whip to pudding. Stir well together.
  • Cover bottom of 13X9 with pudding, layer cookies side by side to cover bottom of pan (use broken cookies to fill in spaces that a whole cookie won’t fit).
  • Cover cookies with pudding, layer banana slices side by side.
  • Cover with pudding.
  • Repeat the process till you run out of pudding.
  • Sprinkle the remaining remnants of the cookie bag on top, you decide how you want to do that.
  • Put in fridge and let set overnight or at least 3-4 hours before serving.
  • Tastes best at room temperature, or cold if you like it that way.
