This recipe is not special. Pinto’s are the one thing missing from your menu. They are cheap, easy and a staple to the area you serve. I’d much rather have pinto’s than black eyed peas.

Ingredients:
All of this depends on the quantity you are cooking.
- Soaked pinto beans
- water
- salt
- bacon, ham or smoked sausage
Directions:
- Let beans soak for hours, preferably overnight.
- Cook in a covered pot until soft.
- Add meat about halfway through the cooking process
- Add desired amount of salt 30 minutes before beans are done.
