Pinto Beans

This recipe is not special. Pinto’s are the one thing missing from your menu. They are cheap, easy and a staple to the area you serve. I’d much rather have pinto’s than black eyed peas.

Ingredients:

All of this depends on the quantity you are cooking.

  • Soaked pinto beans
  • water
  • salt
  • bacon, ham or smoked sausage

Directions:

  • Let beans soak for hours, preferably overnight.
  • Cook in a covered pot until soft.
  • Add meat about halfway through the cooking process
  • Add desired amount of salt 30 minutes before beans are done.
